All our special projects are self supporting. They help the ministry of our teams. They do not divert any money from the primary work of Here's Life Mission to Africa.
Volunteer medical mission teams treat thousands of people who had never seen a real doctor or gotten good medicines before. Our doctors and nurses literally save many lives and see God save souls forever. Team members pay their own expenses and give many thousands of dollars worth of medicine, better than most African hospitals can get. Americans who work on these teams may see more people accept Christ in a week in Africa than in the rest of their lives at home.
Our leaders help give "the Water of Life." Over 6,000 Africans die each day from disease infested water. In the dry season, people often wait in line 12 hours to get to a well. Here's Life has two drilling rigs to provide life-giving, clean water.
We work in countries where HIV-AIDS infection is the highest. Our teams show an excellent film on AIDS prevention in Swahili in most of the places we show the JESUS Film. We hope to soon get the AIDS film in other languages. Often 100,000 people see this film in a month and many receive Christ.
Many villages have no electricity. Newly developed solar powered lights we give to a village church enable pastors to teach God's word at night.
We have partnered with the "Faith Comes By Hearing" organization to use solar powered dramatized New Testament players known as "Proclaimers." This enables churches to offer Bible studies to people who may not be able to afford a Bible or who cannot read. The "Proclaimer" is a variety of professional readers using the languages of the people we are reaching.
