| | All of our special projects are self supporting. They help the ministry of our teams by providing valuable life giving and life sustaining resources. They do not divert any money from the primary work of Here's Life Mission Africa. MEDICAL TEAMS HLMA volunteer medical mission teams treat thousands of destitute people each year. Many of the people we treat have never seen a real doctor nor received the quality of medicines or care that HLMA teams provide. Our doctors, nurses, and support staff literally save numerous lives each year.
Team members and volunteers pay their own expenses and donate thousands of dollars worth of life saving medicines.
Evangelism outreach and pastoral training play a vital part of every medical mission. To date, more than 50 thousand African villagers have received the free gift of eternal life in Jesus Christ and more than 650 pastors have been trained through these missions.
Volunteers who serve on our medical mission teams may see more people accept Christ in a week, in Africa, than throughout the rest of their lives at home.
WATER WELL DRILLING Over 6,000 Africans die each day from disease infested water. During the dry season, people often walk for miles and wait in line as long as 12 hours to get to a well. HLMA teams labor to provide "the Water of Life." Here's Life Mission Africa currently has two water well drilling rigs in operation providing life-giving, clean water, to so many in need.
HIV/AIDS EDUCATION In most locations where Here’s Life Mission Africa teams show the JESUS Film we also show an excellent HIV/AIDS education and prevention film. To date, more than 5 million Africans have seen this film. Combined with vector borne diseases such as malaria, HIV/AIDS is one of the primary causes of sickness and death in Africa.
"CHURCH OF THE LIGHT" Developed by Here’s Life Mission Africa the “Church of the Light” is a specially designed solar light provided to village churches without electricity. The “Church of the Light” enables pastors to teach God’s word and to disciple God’s people at night.
"THE PROCLAIMER" Here’s Life Mission Africa makes certain that new Christians are trained and equipped to reach their nations for Christ. One of our tools is the “Proclaimer,” provided by our partner and its developer, Faith Comes By Hearing.
The “Proclaimer” is a solar powered audio device that plays an unabridged, dramatized version of the New Testament in the native languages of the new believers. Since many of our new brothers and sisters in Christ cannot read or write “The Proclaimer” is a excellent tool for nurturing their spiritual growth.
HLMA currently has more than 800 “Proclaimer” listening groups in Central and East Africa with more than 20,000 men, women, and children listening to the New Testament each week.
